NASitron

Administration

Replace a failed drive

Review a guarded replacement and follow the resilver to verification.

Identify the failed member

Open Replace failed drive on the server and refresh live inventory. Confirm pool, failed GUID, drive identity and physical location against the NAS.

Choose a blank replacement

Candidates must be unmounted whole physical disks without filesystems, partitions, holders or pool membership. The helper rechecks eligibility at execution and uses stable by-id identifiers. NASitron does not force, wipe or repartition a candidate.

Review and confirm

Review the command and type the displayed confirmation. OpenZFS still enforces compatibility and size checks. Every attempted replacement records the actor, devices, command and outcome.

Follow the operation

Accepted means command submission succeeded. Follow Operations through resilvering and verification. A stale or missing pool cannot complete verification; a timeout or lost connection is Unknown and requires inspection on the NAS before preparing another action.
